Johnnye Lee Mokry, age 80, passed away on October 16, 2014. She was born on December 28, 1933 to John and Hermina Kropp in Granger, Texas and graduated from Granger High School in 1951 as Homecoming Queen. She married her husband of 62 years, Jerry J. Mokry, on April 24, 1952. Johnnye Lee was employed by Helen White Electrologists for 22 years after working for Cullen Mall Post Office and Hickory Farms. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, cousin, and friend. She enjoyed cooking, reading, planting, puzzles, solving mysteries to her favorite programs, and 'Molly B. Polka Party'. Her main highlight was just plain ol' visiting with family. Johnnye Lee is survived by her husband, Jerry J. Mokry; daughters, Donna (Pete) Hall, Sharon (Chris) McMahon, Ann (Philip) Volpe; sons, Douglas (Paula) Mokry, Marcus (Carol) Mokry, David Mokry; grandchildren, Christin (Noah) Richardson, Cara McMahon, Jacob (Amber) Mokry, Corey Mokry, Zachary Mokry, Joshua Mokry, Matthew Volpe, Stephen Volpe, Elizabeth Volpe; and many nieces and nephews. She had a special love for her kitty cat - Hot Shot. Interment to follow mass at Seaside Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be her grandchildren: Jacob Mokry, Corey Mokry, Zachary Mokry, Joshua Mokry, Matthew Volpe, Stephen Volpe, and Noah Richardson. I can do all things thru Christ who strengthens me.
