Joseph A. Batcher, 82, of 1022 Louise, passed away Monday. Survivors: Wife, Bertha Batcher, Tucson, Ariz., number of nieces and nephews. Services 12 noon Wednesday, Christ the King Catholic Church, Msgr Bernard Roemer officiating. Burial Hollywood Cemetery. Heights Funeral Home . Son of August Batcher and Annie Braden, per his death certificate. The informant was Henry Bacha. Marriages: 1) J. A. Baca and Miss Mary Malek were married on 20 Feb 1912 in Fayette County, Texas, by Rev John Vanicek, Catholic Rector of St. John's Congregation in Fayetteville. 2) Joseph A. Batcher and Mrs Bertha M. Green were married on 19 August 1949 by Rev O. L. Miles of Houston. The license was purchased on 19 Aug 1949 in Brazoria County, Texas. _____________ His wife Bertha M. "Birdie" Batcher, b. 21 Jun 1891, died in July, 1987 in Tucson, Arizona, interment unknown. Also in this plot are Justina Green and John W. Russell . John W. Russell was Bertha Batcher's grandfather. There are no markers in this plot. ∼ Son of August and Johanna "Anna" Braden Baca. Married Mary Malek on 20 Feb 1912 in Fayette County, Texas. The name "Baca" has had many spelling variations, the main ones being Bacher/Batcher. His Texas Death Certificate indicates he was buried in Hollywood Cemetery, while his wife Mary was buried in what was formerly known as Garden of Gethsemani Cemetery, now Forest Park Lawndale. He was survived by his second wife, Bertha. Note from photo volunteer: Joseph "Batcher" is buried in the Lynnwood Lawn Section of Hollywood Cemetery in plot 125 Grave 5. in an UNMARKED GRAVE per cemetery records. He is buried in a plot owned by F. A. Green. There are no markers on this plot. Copy of obituary states he was survived by wife, Mrs. Bertha Batcher of Tucson, Arizona.
