Jacqueline Imogene Geiser Scott, 85 years and 4 months, passed away peacefully in her sleep April 19, 2015, from heart, kidney and lung problems at St. Luke’s Hospital in Meridian, Idaho. Jackie was the eldest daughter of Archie Delbert Geiser and Irma Lea Phifer. She was born on Dec. 13, 1929, in Arnold. She graduated from Arnold High School in 1949. After high school, she moved to Denver to work before returning to Arnold to work as a nurse at the Arnold Hospital. She married Maurice Lavern “Scotty” Scott in Stapleton on May 19, 1951. The couple moved to Fort Sill, Oklahoma, where Maurice was in the U.S. Army. He served in the Korean War from 1951-53. After the war, they moved back to Arnold and had two children, Rhonda and Rodney. Jackie worked as a homemaker while the children were young. In 1959, the family moved to San Pedro, California, where Maurice worked as a car mechanic. Later they bought their own car repair/service station business, where Jackie did the accounting office work. She later retired from the Los Angeles School District as an elementary school cafeteria manager. They moved to Minden, Nevada, after retirement and in 2003, they moved to Boise, Idaho. Jackie was a very good bowler and joined leagues wherever she lived. She and Maurice “Scotty” bought a motorhome and traveled across the United States and up to Alaska a few times. Jackie loved to travel and go on cruises. She visited Australia with Maurice and traveled with her daughter to many European countries, Mexico, Honduras and the Caribbean, and she cruised Trans-Atlantic aboard the ship Queen Elizabeth II from New York City to Southampton, England. Jackie loved many kinds of music, especially music from the 1940s, country music, Irish songs and Broadway show tunes. She was preceded in death by her husband, Maurice “Scotty” Scott; parents, Archie and Lea Phifer Geiser; sister, Frances Geiser Scott; and brother, Robert Geiser. She is survived by her daughter, Rhonda Scott, of Boise, Idaho; son, Rodney (Patricia) Scott; granddaughters, Hannah Scott and Abigail Scott, all of Meridian, Idaho; sisters, Geraldine (Clark) Sauer, of Gladstone, Missouri, Brenda Olin, of Grand Island, and Rickie (Steve) McKnight, of Albuquerque, New Mexico; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law; and many special nieces and nephews.
