Gary Paul Muehlstein was born on May 1, 1946 in Stamford, Texas to Jimmy and Linda (Roeber) Muehlstein. He passed from this earth on October 6, 2014 at the age of 68. Gary’s loved ones will be receiving visitors from 6-7 p.m. Thursday, October 9, 2014 at Tankersley Funeral Home (807 S. Columbia) Stamford, TX. Funeral Services will be at 2:00 p.m. Friday, October 10, 2014 at the Avoca Baptist Church with the Rev. Les Mims officiating. Burial will follow in Spring Creek Cemetery under the direction of Tankersley Funeral Home. Gary was a 1964 graduate of Stamford High School. He attended Cisco Jr. College for one before returning to the life he loved, farming.as a 3rd generation farmer, he farmed in Jones and Haskell counties. On October 9, 1965 Gary married Sandra Brueggeman. The Muehlstein’s established their home in Stamford and lived there until moving to Avoca in 1977. He attended the Avoca Baptist Church. As a young man Gary enjoyed riding motorcycles. His family was his pride and joy, especially his three grandchildren. Gary was preceded in death by his parents, an infant daughter, Kathy Sue Muehlstein; father-in-law, Curtis Brueggeman; sister-in-law, Tammy Brueggeman. Those left to cherish his memory include wife, Sandra Muehlstein; son Curt Muehlstein and wife Naomi of Stamford, TX; daughter, Melinda Dunn and husband Steven of Abilene, TX; grandchildren, Emily, Dylan and Weslie Muehlstein all of Stamford, TX; mother-in-law, Betty Brueggeman of Stamford, TX; brother, Hollis Muehlstein and wife Jan of Avoca, TX; nephews; Jim Muehlstein and wife Cryst, Chuck Muehlstein and wife Kristi all of Stamford, TX Matt Muehlstein of San Angelo, TX.
