Bio

Services for Lonnie J Black, Fox, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Healdton Assembly of God Church with the Rev Herald Baker officiating, assisted by the Rev. James Tynes. Burial will be in Mt. Olive Cemetery here. Black died in an Oklahoma City hospital Wednesday evening after a one year illness. He was born at Checotah on Jan. 17, 1905, and was employed by Mobil Oil Co. for 36 years. He had been a resident of the Fox area the past 29 years. Married to Nannie Shelton Sept. 20, 1924, at Henryetta. Black was a member of the Pruitt City Assembly of God Church and the Healdto Masonry Lodge No. 23. He retired from Mobil Oil Co. in 1966. Survivors include his wife of the home; 5 daughters, Judy Bloodworth, Ratliff City, Betty Cable, Monroe, N.C., Virginia Carlisle, Madill, Mary Hunter and Linda Shrader, both of Oklahoma City; 3 sons, Lonnie Jr., Wilson, Paul, Ratliff City and Richard, Del City; 3 brothers, Hugh, Selman City, Tex., Floyd, Tulsa, and Silas, Henryetta; 3 sisters, Eva Brazell and Ida Bellows, both of Seminole and Florence Madden, Salina, Kan.; 22 grandchildren, and 2 great grandchildren. Serving as bearers will be A.E. Berkley, Ray Beamer, Delbert Burton, Jack Wilburn, Billy Paul Smith and Cleo DeArmond, Masons and Mobil Co. employees will as serve as honorary bearers.
