ORD — Viola Mottl, 83, of Ord died Friday, April 27, 2001, at the Valley County Nursing Home in Ord. Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Monday at the Ord First Presbyterian Church. The Rev. Michael Chase will officiate. Burial will be in the Ord Bohemian Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the Ord Memorial Chapel. Memorials are suggest to the Ord First Presbyterian Church or the Valley County Nursing Home. Mrs. Mottl was born Nov. 13, 1917, in Valley County to Rudolph and Clara (Bouda) Krahulik. She attended school at District 35 in the Geranium township of Valley County and at Ord High School. She married Frank Mottl on June 22, 1936, in Ord. The couple farmed in the Valley and Sherman County areas. They also lived in York, Crete, Blair and Clarion, Iowa. They returned to Ord in 1982. Mr. Mottl died on Jan. 7, 1997. Mrs. Mottl was a member of the Ord First Presbyterian Church. She was a former member of the Doe Club, Rebekah Club, Busy Homemakers, the Be Sharp Extension Club and the WFLA Lodge. She enjoyed ceramics and gardening. Survivors include three sons, Roger of Malone, Wash., Allen of Port Orchard, Wash., and Earl of Grand Island; one sister, Verna Ruzicka of Ord; eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
