PETTUS, JOHN Y. Victoria, Texas, April 10 - The news has just reached here of the death of John Y. Pettus, son of Mr. and Mrs. W. A. Pettus, at their home in Goliad county, which occurred this morning at 7 o'clock. The funeral will occur tomorrow morning at 10 o'clock and the remains will be interred in the family burying grounds on the San Antonio river, near the Pettus home. A great many will attend from here, possibly on a special train. This was virtually his home up to a few years ago, when the first symptoms of the dread malady appears since which time he has been in West Texas and California, and everything possible done to prolong his life. He was 27 years of age yesterday; a prince of good fellows, without an enemy on earth, and with a circle of friends limited only by the number of his acquaintances. The Rev.
