In Bradsby (1893) there is a bio of Mary's husband Joseph Henderson Harrison. It says she is the daughter of George and Mary Glase. This is wrong (Bradsby was writing 50 years after the events and 23 years after Mary Maria died). The name was generally spelled Glace, and Mary was the 2nd wife (mentioned only in 1860). The first wife and mother of all George's children was Hannah, who died in 1847. In 1840, George and Hannah lived next door to Stephen and Elizabeth Harrison so ,naturally, Glace married Harrison. Joseph's parents bought 100 acres in 1846 as a wedding present, a mile east in Union Twp. JH and Mary built a brick house there, still standing along Shickshinny Lake (which flooded much of the valley in the '60s). Most of Mary Maria's siblings were scattered after their mothers death. One, Jacob Levi Glace, lived with her and JH in 1850. Mary Maria was born in Sugarloaf Twp, Luzerne, and was named, in part, for Hannah's mother Maria Barbara Andreas. Mary M died in 1870 following the birth of their youngest, Ezra Yochum Harrison.
