Bio
Carolyn C. Phillips, 75, of Abingdon, Virginia, passed away Wednesday, September 24, 2014, at Abingdon Health and Rehabilitation Center, Abingdon, Virginia. She was born in Switchback, W.Va.,, on June 11, 1939, the daughter of the late Denver Church and Novella Harmon Hall. She was a charter member of Beulah Land Baptist Church in Goosepimple Junction. Carolyn is survived by her husband of 58 years, Bob Phillips; three daughters, Robin Phillips, Teri Phillips, and Cindy Phillips; special "grandson", Tommy Miller; and brother, E. W. Hall Jr. of St. Paul, Va. The family will receive friends from 5 until 6:45 p.m. Friday, September 26, 2014, at Blevins Funeral and Cremation Services. The funeral service will follow at 7 p.m. with Pastor David Wilson officiating and music provided by Clyde Wilson. The committal service and interment will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, September 27, 2014, in Odum Cemetery, Bristol, Va. Pallbearers will be Randy, Ronnie, Robbie, Skip, Darrel, and David Phillips. Honorary pallbearers will be David Shortt and PFC Zack Harrison.
