Other children, Carol Ann (Dr. Bryce Bonness), Pat (Arthur Hughes) -------------------------------------------- LINCOLN - Louise Marie McOstrich, 92, of Lincoln died Tuesday, May 17, 2011. Memorial services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Good Shepherd Presbyterian Church in Lincoln. Pastor Jeff Warrick will officiate. There will be no visitation. Cremation has taken place. Roper and Sons Funeral Services is in charge of arrangements. Mrs. McOstrich was born Dec. 8, 1918, on a farm in Garfield County to Jerry J. and Louise (Bartunek) Petska. On Oct. 3, 1937, she married Darrell B. McOstrich. He preceded her in death. Survivors of the immediate family include two daughters and sons-in-law, Carol and Dr. Bryce Bonness of Lincoln and Pat and Arthur Hughes of Bethesda, Md.; a sister, Alice Slobaszewski; and a brother, Jerry Petska, Jr. Additional survivors include grandchildren, Alex Hughes, Karen Warren (Mark), Steve Rasmussen, Katherine Hughes (Jeff Honea), Laura Decker (Corey) and Daniel Rasmussen (Traci); and 11 great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by a grandson, Doug Rasmussen. Louise graduated from Ord High School where, during the depression she helped in the family business in Ord. She also graduated from business school with honors. After Ord, she and Darrell then moved to Grand Island. Louise obtained a real estate license and she was the first woman president of the Grand Island Realtor's Association in Grand Island. She was Executive Director of the YWCA for 10 years where she started a Golden Age Club and playschools for mentally disabled children. She was a member of the Grand Island First Presbyterian Church and she and her husband sponsored the youth group for several years. She has been president of many civic clubs and organizations such as Altrusa and Business and Professional Women's Club which included a state office in the 1940's, Riverside Ladies Golf Club, International Visitors member for 30 years. In 2003, Louise moved to Lincoln where she lived at the Legacy. She started the Red Hat Ladies in all the Legacy's and was President of the Legacy Resident's Board.
