Deborah "Debbie" Kazda, 64, of Abbott, passed away Wednesday, September 24, 2014, in Waco. Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m., Sunday, at Aderhold Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Monday, at Aderhold Funeral Home in West, with Dr. John Crowder officiating. Burial will follow in Fatima Cemetery near Abbott. Debbie was born in Frankfurt, Germany, to the late Robert and Ruby (Grant) Cowan. She attended schools in Japan before returning to the States and was a 1968 graduate of Seguin High School. Debbie worked in the Claims Department for Social Security until she retired in 2001. She was an avid Bunco player, enjoyed shopping and taking care of her cats, Tiger and Seymour. She was preceded in death by a stepson, Chris Kazda. Survivors include her husband of 20 years, Jerry Kazda, of Abbott; son, Ron Nemec and wife, Leidimar, of Missouri City; daughter, Michelle Nemec, of Waco; stepsons, Daryl Kazda and fiancée, Denise, of West, and Gary Kazda and wife, Carrie, of Waxahachie; stepdaughter-in-law, Kathleen Kazda, of West; grandchildren: Bethany, Danielle, Parker, Will, Julia, Brooke, Ricky and Clara; her best friend, Theresa Spille; sisters, Kay Strickland and husband, Ron, and Sara Schumann and husband, Clyde; step-sister, Ann Dolle and husband, Stan; and several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
