Linda Ann Freestone Young May 11, 1947 ~ January 7, 2014 Linda Ann Freestone Young, our precious and loving wife, mother, sister, aunt, grandmother, friend and angel in absolutely every sense of the word, passed from mortality to her eternal reward January 7th, 2014. She joined her parents, Ivan Wilson Freestone and Peggy Joy Sparks Freestone in paradise. She was also reunited with her brother Michael Craig Freestone, and her sweet Aunt LeOra Freestone Jacobe. Her little nephew Matthew N. Sorensen and neice Valerie Sorensen were there to welcome her, too. She is a lifelong and faithful member of the LDS church and had the privilege of serving in many capacities during her lifetime in both her ward and Temple. Her ward and the Vernal Temple were a huge source of joy and fulfillment for her. She considered these works to be of utmost importance, and attended to them until her last days. She lived and obeyed the gospel at all times and in every situation. Her love for the Lord truly did come first. Linda was very passionate about life and lived life to it's fullest, always putting her whole heart into everything she did. She didn't have an idle or lazy bone in her body! Linda accomplished more in a day than most people could dream of. She loved to garden. Whether it be providing her friends and family with produce, juicing, bottling or drying produce, she never let anything go to waste. She loved sewing, the thrill of finding bargains at yard sales, and enjoyed daily walks in the hills with close long time friends. She passionately and selflessly served and loved her family and others. Linda served and loved effortlessly with no strings attached. For many years she owned and operated a bed and breakfast business from her home. As a trained masseuse, she brought relief to countless people in pain. Linda's greatest joy was her family. She enjoyed 44 wonderful years of marriage and is survived by her eternal Husband, Jay Dee Young, and their four sons - Scott Taff (Renae) of Pleasant Hill, Ca., Gregory J. (Leslie Ann) of Heber, Utah, Robb Thomas (Angela) of Spanish Fork, Utah and Robert Dee Young (Catherine Irene) of Vernal, Utah. Her brother and sisters will also miss her greatly. They are Kathy Freestone Stewart (Preston) of Vernal, Utah, Nikki Freestone Sorensen (Neal) of Vernal, Utah, and Tim Freestone of Salt Lake City, Utah. Linda was born in Madisonville, Texas on May 11, 1947. Shortly after her marriage to Jay Dee, they moved to Ogden, Utah. They later relocated to Denver, Colorado. In 1976 they returned to Vernal, Utah. Linda has fourteen grandchildren, with whom she is very close. Her time with them was spent down on the floor playing, reading, teaching and engaging in one on one activities with each of them. Life was full of fun and surprises on "Pox" clock with every hour carefully planned out and full of precious bonding entertainment. She never missed an opportunity to share her testimony and teach them the Lords eternal values, and she never distracted herself with things that didn't matter or held no spiritual value. Her powerful influence, teachings and constant example will stay with them and help them develop into exemplary young people, with bright and happy futures. They will dearly miss her as much as she loved them. A celebration of Linda's life was held in Vernal at the Ashley Second Ward chapel on January eleventh, 2014, followed by interment in the Rock Point Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please send any donations to the LDS General Missionary Fund. We know that you will continue to love and care for us from your Heavenly home. Until we meet again, you will be greatly missed and forever in our hearts and minds.
