Mrs. Columbia J. Ketchum Mrs. Columbia J. Ketchum, born October 19th, 1861, died at Laredo August 16th, 1937,75, and the remains were brought here for interment. Her maiden name was Herring and she belonged to one of Devine's original families. She is survived by a son, Denzil Ketchum, of Laredo, and a sister, Mrs. D.H. Griffin, of Devine. The remains arrived here Monday evening and were taken to the home of Mr. and Mrs. J.S. Griffin, cousins, and to the St. Joseph Catholic Church at 9:30 Tuesday where services were conducted by Rev. Lambert Schlett, after which she was laid to rest by her parents and husband, Peter Ketchum, all of whom had passed away many years ago. Mother of D.A. Ketchum Dies Mrs. Columbia Jane Ketchum, 75, mother of D.A. Ketchum, died at the Ketchum home, 614 Mendiola Avenue, Monday morning at 8 o'clock, after a lingering illness. She came here recently from Devine to make her home with her daughter-in-law, Mrs. D.A. Ketchum. Besides her son, she is survived by one sister, Mrs. D.T. Griffm of Devine. Funeral arrangements had not been perfected to noon Monday ** she married Peter Razor Ketchum III born ca 1862 and died after June 1900 in Medina, TX on 12 September 1885 in Medina.
