Bio

Contributed by The Seeker: J. Linzy Ockerman, son of James and Sarah Ockerman, was born on December 27, 1875 in Wayne County, Iowa and passed away January 17, 1958 at the St. Joseph hospital in Centerville at the age of 82 years and 20 days. He was united in marriage to Viola Hellyer on March 27, 1895. To this union four daughters were born, Cecil Budiselich, who passed away in 1948; Sylvia Willey of Des Moines, Eva Rees of Cambria and Marie Chrisman of Allerton. He lived in Wayne County from the time of his marriage until his death. His wife preceded him in death on July 2, 1929. Surviving besides three daughters are four sons-in laws, six grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, two half brothers, Freel Jones and Elmer Jones, one half sister, Lottie Bryan and a host of other relatives and friends. Fueral services were held Sunday afternoon at 2:00 P.M. from the Randolph Funeral Home in Allerton with Reverend Earl Kelly* officiating. Mrs. Harold Ham and Mrs. Tom Alley sang accompanied by Mrs. Karl Binau at the piano. Pallbearers were Jess George, Wayne Snodgrass, Gene Walker, Bill Johnson, Lester and Ray Jones.
