Bio
Mary Joan Anliker, 84, of Burlington died at 6:15 a.m. Tuesday, September 2, 2014, at Blair House in Burlington. Born October 7, 1929 in Burlington, she was the daughter of Herbert Gustave and Esther Marie Caroline (Dahlin) Swanson. On December 26, 1951 she married Dr. Dale L. Anliker in Burlington. He preceded her in death on April 15, 1998. Mrs. Anliker was a Burlington High School and Moline Lutheran Nurses School graduate. She worked with her husband as nurse and office manager for 10 years, retiring in 1998. Mrs. Anliker was a member of West Hill United Methodist Church, Methodist Women - Deborah Circle and a former member of Jr. Women's Club. She also sang in her church choir. She enjoyed reading, going to auctions and being with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. For many years she cared for her daughter, Dawn. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, two brothers and two sisters.
