Bio

Jacob Brumbaugh is buried next to his wife but has no cemetery stone. Obituary Jacob Brumbaugh, son of Joseph and Rachael Brumbaugh, was born November 19, 1855 in Pennsylvania and died at his home at Franklin, Nebraska February 9, 1931, at he age of 75 years, two months and twenty days. He was married to Nancy Harris December 24, 1882 and to this union three children were born, all of whom survive their father Walter, Pearl and Mae. Mr. Brumbaugh came to Nebraska from Ohio in 1877, and settled on a farmstead south of Franklin. A few years later with his family, he moved to Franklin where he resided until the time of his death. He wife preceded him to the great beyond on May 3, 1920. He leaves to mourn his death his three children, Walter of Franklin; Mrs. Mae Crouse, Ashby, Nebr.; and Pearl of Long Beach, Calif. He is also survived by two brothers and four sisters, George Brumbaugh of Washingon; Joe, of Corona, Calif.; Kate Farriss of North Bend, Ore.; Sarah Law, Long Beach, Calif.; Electa Menaugh, Crafton, Nebr.; and Alta Shepherdson of Franklin. Besides these he leaves 10 grandchildren and seven great grandchildren and distant relatives and firiends who are saddened today because a fellow wanderer in this life has made his departure for that other land on eternity's shores. May God bless those who mourn today. We journey with our loved ones in this life and one after another they leave us. God's word tells us that we are creatures of eternity, that this is not our abiding place, but that we are destined for another land where we shall live forever. May this hope that we shall see our loved ones over there bring comfort and assurance in this hour of sorrow. Funeral services were held at the Methodist Church at 2:30 Wednesday afternoon in charge of Rev. E. H. Unvert in the presence of many relatives and friends. Internment was in Greenwood Cemetery.
