Bio

Husband of Mary E. Johnson (Johnston) whom he married on July 13,1837. Father of William H. Keener, Robert J. Keener, Margaret V. Keener Utterback, George J. Keener, and Hannah E. Keener Poling. Son of George Keener and Margaret Miller. ************************** Local News Section. Grafton Sentinel. Grafton, WV. Fri., Jan. 15, 1897. Samuel B. Keener, aged 84 years, died at his home near Haymond Settlement, this county, on Saturday last. The deceased was born and raised in this section and was one of the oldest men in the county. His remains were buried in the Keener graveyard near Fetterman Sunday afternoon. ****************************** Note: There is a message on this page indicating that Samuel B. Keener fought in the Civil War and his grandfather in the Revolutionary War. I am currently researching this to see if it is indeed true. Will provide documentation if located, however I have found no proof of either.
