Mr. Anton D. Cardwell Jr. 71 of Hammond, IN passed away on Saturday, August 30, 2014. He was born on December 09, 1942 to the late Anton Dale "Buddy" Cardwell Sr. and Mattie Lou `Wilson` Cardwell. Buddy married Barbara Ann Thomas in 1961. He is survived by his beloved wife of 53 years, Barbara; Loving father of Roger (Monique) Cardwell, Becky (Bill) Griffin and Rhonda Dowd; cherished grandfather of Derek Griffin, Jessica Cardwell, Roger Cardwell Jr, Billy Griffin, Tyler Dowd and Kaylie Dowd; proud great grandfather of Isabella and Giuliana; fond brother of Danny (Judy) Cardwell; mother-in-law, Gladys Johnson; sisters-in-law, Sandra Smith, Wylene (Bobby) Perkins, Diane (Wally) Steenerson, Gail Taylor and Judy Thomas; brothers-in-laws, Gary (April) Thomas and Jerry Thomas; numerous nieces and nephews, 3 uncles. He was Paw Paw to many. He was preceded in death by his parents. Interment will be at Elmwood Cemetery, Hammond, IN.
