He was the son of Ezekiel and Florence (Murrell) Jones and married Cynthia Ethel Bird - 22 Dec 1907 - Cocke Co., Tennessee. After her death, he married Ethel Beatrice Williams - 07 Jan 1940 - Franklin Co., Tennessee. His obituary follows: Lemuel Roscoe Jones Died Tuesday, Was 80 -- Lemuel Roscoe Jones, age 80, a resident of Decherd, died at his home Tuesday following an illness of several months. A native of Newport, Tennessee, he was a member of the Church of Christ and was a retired farmer. Services will be conducted today (Thursday) from the parlors of Sims-Watson and Huffman Funeral Home in Decherd, with Jimmy Walker officiating. Burial will be in Franklin Memorial Gardens. He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Ethel Williams Jones of Huntsville, Alabama; one brother, Jim Jones of Stevenson, Alabama, and five grandchildren.
