Kathryn Crabtree June 4, 1928 ~ April 19, 202596 Years Old Kathryn Crabtree, 96, passed peacefully in her sleep on April 19, 2025 at home. She was born June 4, 1928 in Greenbrier, TN, near Nashville, the daughter of Lloyd Porter and Vera Hettie (Dorris) Faires of Greenbrier, TN. Kathryn graduated Greenbrier High School, Class of 1946. Following high school, she worked as a high school teacher for a short while, and then worked for National Life Insurance Co. in Nashville. She was courted by and married Robert "Frank" Crabtree, Sr. on Nov. 9, 1957. She became a housewife after moving to the Crabtree Family Farm in Alamo, TX., following their wedding in 1957. They had two children, Robert Frank Crabtree, Jr. and Debra Kay Crabtree Duffee. Kathryn was very active at 1st United Methodist Church of Weslaco, TX, including singing in the choir from 1957 -1999. After moving to Bryan, TX following the death of her husband, Frank, in 1999 she became active at Aldersgate Global Methodist Church in College Station, TX until her mobility became extremely limited. She loved God, her family, and her church families. Her life was a witness to her faith in Jesus Christ. She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Crabtree; her parents, Lloyd and Vera Faires; sisters, Evelyn Faires and Dorris Faires Robb; and brothers-in-law, James A. Robb, Sr. and Ancil Walker. She is survived by her sister, Ann Faires Walker, 100; son, Robert Crabtree, and daughter-in-law, Mary C. Worden Crabtree; daughter, Debra Crabtree Duffee, and son-in-law, Milton Duffee; granddaughter, Ashley Duffee Weisser, grandson-in-law, Jeff Weisser, and great-grandson, Bradley Weisser. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. A Celebration of Life is scheduled for Monday, May 19, 2025 at 6pm at Aldersgate Church 2201 Earl Rudder Fwy S, College Station, TX 77845 In lieu of flowers, you may, if you desire, make a one-time gift to Aldersgate Church.
