Services for Raymond M. Slonecker, 58, of 340 8th St. Silvis, who died Monday at Illini Hospital, will be 9:30 a.m. Thursday at Schroder Mortuary, Silvis, and 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, Silvis. The Rev. Raymond Boyle will officiate. Burial will be in Greenview Memorial Gardens. Visitation is 2 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, where a rosary will be recited at 8 p.m. Memorial may be made to the church or the American Cancer Society. Mr. Slonecker was born in Seward, Neb. He married Louise Fosler in 1947 In Seward. He was senior customer service agent for United Airlines at the Quad-City Airport. He was employed by United Airlines for 33 years. He was a former member of the Barstow-Carbon Cliff school board, a former chief of the Barstow Volunteer Fire Department and a Navy veteran of World War I. (sp. World War II) Survivors include his widow; 2 daughters; 2 sons; five grandchildren, and his mother, Mrs. Martha Slonecker, Seward.
