SOUTHERN ILLINOISAN (Carbondale, IL), Friday, June 5, 1970: William Esco Trammell, 74, of Rt. 1, Anna, died today at the Veterans Hospital in Marion. Mr. Trammell was born June 4, 1896, the son of Jack and Minnie Bennett Trammell. He married Sarah Sims, Nov. 30, 1951, in Jonesboro. Mr. Trammell was a veteran of World War I. Survivors include his wife; a son, Bob of Lick Creek; a daughter, Mrs. Allie White of Scott City, Mo.; a brother, George of West Frankfort; sisters, Mrs. Annie Alexander of Calumet, Mrs. Maudie Fritz of Brownfield, and Mrs. Verdie Robinson of Carrier Mills; and six grandchildren. Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Sunday at the Norris and Son Funeral Home in Jonesboro, with the Rev. Phil Asbury officiating. Friends may call after 3 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
