Bio
Martha (Slansky) Gorski, 90, passed away Wednesday, August 20, 2014, in Tomball, Texas. She was born August 8, 1924 in Fayetteville, Texas to William and Albina (Cervenka) Slansky. Martha spent her career working for Nabisco, retiring in 1986. She enjoyed many activities including gardening, sewing, dancing, ceramic painting and cake decorating. In fact she made numerous wedding and birthday cakes and many people remember her decorated sugar Easter eggs. Martha also loved to tell stories about how life was on the farm in Fayetteville. She was loved by many and will be missed by all. Martha is preceded in death by her parents; husband Ike Gorski and sister Evelyn Wierzbicki. She is survived by her daughter, Kay Herring and her husband Reid, grandchildren; April Herring-Murray and her husband Andrew, Kelly Pomerleau, Jacob Herring and Jared Herring. Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 p.m. with recitation of the rosary at 7:00p.m. on Monday, August 25, 2014 at Heights Funeral Home. The funeral service is scheduled for Tuesday, 10 a.m. at St. Anne De Beaupre Catholic Church, 2810 Link Rd., Houston, Texas 77009. Interment will follow at Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery. Arrangements under the direction of Heights Funeral Home, Houston, TX.
