William Albert Reese was born in Merthyr Tydfil, Glamorgan, Wales to George William Reese and Jane "May" Ford. He married Sarah Ann Bishop 27 January 1866 in Aberdare, Glamorgan, Wales and they emigrated to the United States about 1868. A miner, he worked around the West at the Rocky Mountain Coal Mine, in the Wyoming Territory and Clover, Tooele, Utah Territory. William played the concertina and would play at dances and events in the area. His son played the fiddle. According to a newspaper article, he had been looking for work for over a week in the Castledale area. He was hit by a train while walking on or laying upon the tracks in direction of returning to his home. According to his granddaughter, Elinor Mae Miller Yancey, William is buried in the Scofield Cemetery, but does not have a headstone as the family could not afford one at the time of his death. She pointed in the direction of the south east corner and said that is where he is buried. They thought he was buried in a plot owned by a a relative; and it may be near Amelia Merintha Reese Kane's plot. The record book has no listing for him. In the obituary of his wife, Sarah Ann Bishop Reese, it says her husband was buried in the Scofield Cemetery. He and Sarah are the parents of 11 children: Alma Nephi Reese 1866-1909 Sarah Ann Reese 1868-1868 Wiliam George Reese 1871-1922 Elizabeth Adeline "Lizzie" Reese 1874-1924 Jane Etta "Jeannette" Reese 1876-1958 Elinor May Reese 1877-1959 Agnes Lillian Reese 1880-1886 Violet Selina Reese 1883-1883 Amelia Merintha Reese 1885-1920 Martha Rosina Reese 1887-1920 Ralph James Reese 1889-1921 Sister Eleanor Adaline Reese Green MEMORIAL ID 155515300
