ANNIE LAURA QUISENBERRY SHELTON Annie Laura Quisenberry Shelton, 94, of Quanah, died Monday, April 14, 2014, in Quanah. Services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, April 18, in Smith Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Monte Lumpkin officiating. Interment will follow in Quanah Memorial Park under the direction of Smith Funeral Home of Quanah. She was born Dec. 22, 1919, in Quanah, a daughter of the late James Henry and Maude Mercer Wilkerson. She married Clebert Quisenberry on June 26, 1937, and he preceded her in death on Sept. 8, 1971. She married Johnny Shelton on Sept. 26, 1982, and he preceded her in death in 2000. She was a graduate of Quanah High School and a member of First Baptist Church. She enjoyed quilting and other seamstress work, gardening, and was said to be a wonderful cook. Survivors include two sons, Wayland Quisenberry of Cynthiana, Ky., and Tony Quisenberry of Highland Village; five stepchildren, Sharon Fair of Abernathy, Pat Shelton of Odell, Genora Dunson of Weatherford, Holly Marie Winburn of Beeville, and Cindy Snell of Lubbock; five brothers and sisters; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
