Grand Island (Nebraska) Independent October 1980 Mrs. Lillie Scheel, 77, of 1009 W. Third died Friday at a local hospital. Services will be Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. at Livingston-Sondermann Funeral Home. Billy Moeller will be the reader. Burial will be in Westlawn Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the First Church of Christ Scientist, or to the coronary care unit at St. Francis Medical Center. Mrs. Scheel was born Oct. 4, 1903, on a farm southeast of Grand Island, the daughter of Edward and Lena Ronnfeldt Baasch. She attended rural school and grew up on her parents' farm. On Jan. 18, 1922, she married Harry Scheel in Grand Island. They farmed southeast of Grand Island until 1946 when they moved into the city. Mr. Scheel died Oct. 18, 1971. Mrs. Scheel was a member of the First Church of Christ Scientist. Survivors include a son, Harold of Torrance, Calif.; two daughters, Mrs. Lester (Aldeen) Baasch and Mrs. Maynard (Lila) Boltz, both of Grand Island; a brother, al Baasch of Fullerton, Calif.; a sister, Mrs. Ilo Brown of Omaha, six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
