SARGENT— Mary Lois (Vose) Brim of Sargent died Sunday, Aug. 10, 2014, at Burwell Community Memorial Health Center. Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Sargent High School Auditorium. The Rev. Marty Robbins will officiate. Burial will be in the Westerville Cemetery. Rhoad Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Brim was born Feb. 24, 1930, on a farm near Gates to Sidney Theodore and Mary Elizabeth (Troxel) Vose. Lois grew up in the Gates-Milburn area and attended elementary school in Gates. Lois and her brother, Ted, attended high school together in Broken Bow graduating in 1948. After graduation Lois taught school for four years. On June 17, 1951, she married Gene Sherbeck making their home on a ranch near Milburn later moving to a farm west of Sargent. To this union five children were born, Tim, Ed, Barb, Jo and Jan. On Feb. 22, 1991, Lois married Louie Brim and they made their home in Sargent. They enjoyed their many travels together, which included trips to Hawaii, the Bahamas and Washington, D.C. Lois loved being a homemaker and mother. She loved gardening, quilting, knitting, playing cards with friends and spending time with children and grandchildren. She worked at numerous businesses in the community and was co-owner of the Fashion Nook for over 10 years. Lois served on Sargent City Council, Sargent Hospital Board, Housing Authority board, and was Grand Marshal of the Q125 Celebration. She was also a member of P.E.O. and the Sargent Church of Christ. She was preceded in death by her parents, Sidney and Mary, and her brother, Ted. Survivors include her husband Louie of Sargent; children, Tim (Cynthia) Sherbeck of Davenport, Ed (Sharon) Sherbeck of Taylor, Barb (Lonnie) Allison of Kearney, Jo (Russ) Tederman of Lincoln and Jan (Mike) Osborn of Sargent and step-son Dan (Robin) Dowse of Sargent; grandchildren, Teri (Ryan) Opfer, Matt (Amy) Sherbeck, Kevin (Beth) Sherbeck, Andrew (Brooke) Sherbeck, Jeff (Cassie) Sherbeck, Lindsey (Travis) Harring, Michael (Katie) Allison, Nate and Jenna Tederman, Abby, Dylan, and Nolan Osborn and step grandkids Stephanie and Brittany Dowse. Also, missing her are 19 great-grandchildren.
