Bio
ANNIE A. SKALA Friends of the Skala family were deeply shocked Tuesday when the news came that their daughter Annie was dead. She caught cold and pneumonia followed and in a week she was dead. Annie was born in Valley county, Sept. 28, 1898 [sic] and died at the home of her parents 12 miles south of Ord. The funeral services were held today, Rev. C. J. Bukoutz and the ZCBJ lodge having charge of the ceremony. Interment was in the Ord Cemetery. Mrs. John Skala and two brothers, Fred and John, and one sister, Mrs. Matt Klima are left to mourn the going of a sweet and beautiful life. Not strong of body but possessed with more than usual strength and beauty of character, Annie was loved by all who knew her. She has labored hard to gain an education and recently graduated from the business college at St. Paul, where she was esteemed by teachers and pupils alike. Her place in the home is made desolate by her going and can never be filled but she will always live in the memory of those who knew her best. The Ord Quiz - Thur, Nov 17 1918, Pg 1, Col 6
