Bio

"Glenda Beth Seals Hollabaugh, age 80, passed away Monday, August 4th, 2014. Visitation will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, August 5th, at Stevens Funeral Home, 400 W. Pecan Street, Coleman, Texas, with a graveside service beginning at 11:00 a.m. at the Coleman Cemetery Pavilion with Rev. Daniel Stovall officiating. Interment will follow in the Coleman Cemetery. "Glenda was born to Clyde Wilson Seals and Mary Neva Wilson Seals on February 9, 1934, in Coleman County. She attended the Cross Roads School as a girl and later graduated from Coleman High School. As a young lady, she worked at Owl Drug Store, was an operator at General Telephone, and was a saleswoman for Earle Smith's Jewelry. "Glenda married James Thompson in the early 1950's, and they had one daughter, Sherrie. After divorcing, she helped run the Dairy Mart in Coleman for many years up into the 1960's. After this, she moved to Abilene and worked various jobs in banking and as a dental assistant. "She met Raymond Hollabaugh while in Abilene, and they married December 23, 1970. Ray was in the Air Force, and his career kept them moving to new places such as Louisiana, California, and eventually back to San Angelo, Texas. During this time, she worked for Texas Commerce Bank and retired in 1995. She was a member of Grace Temple Baptist Church in San Angelo and cherished the friendships she made there. After both retiring, Glenda and Ray started RVing with their friends. They loved to travel into Colorado, New Mexico, and the occasional trip to Branson, Missouri. She always made frequent trips back to Coleman to stay with family, and visit her childhood friends. She loved cooking and homemade desserts, reading biographies, but her greatest joy in life was being Mimi and spending time with her family. "Glenda is survived by her husband Ray Hollabaugh, of San Angelo; daughter Sherrie Love and husband Clay of Talpa; one grandson Cole Love of Talpa; two step-children, Joni Hamric of Cedar Park, and Rodger Hollabaugh and wife Becky of Breckenridge; five granddaughters, Shawna Atkinson and husband Nick of Round Rock, Lindsey Giles and husband Jacob of Abilene, Savanna Hankins and husband Rayme of Stephenville, Jayme Vaughn and husband Kelby of Stephenville, and Cydnee Lowe of Breckenridge; two sisters, Doris McCulloch of Coleman and Chrystal Jennings of Victoria; five great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. "She was preceded in death by her parents, aunts and uncles. "Donations may be made to the charity of your choice." (Coleman Chronicle and Democrat-Voice, Coleman, Texas, August 4, 2014.
