Published in the Ord Quiz, Ord, Nebraska George Radil, Ord Resident 80 George Radil, 80 of Ord died Sunday December 31, 2000 at the Valley county Nursing Home in Ord. Funeral services were held Wednesday, January 3, 2001 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church. Burial was in the Bohemian Cemetery in Ord with military rites by the VFW and American Legion. Mr. Radil was born October 9, 1920, on a farm near Arcadia. He was the son of Anton H. and Emma F. (Sevenker) Radil. He had attended Manderson Dist. #31 school and was a 1938 graduate of Ord High School. He served in the US Army from September of 1942 to December of 1945 with the 191st Field Artillery Battalion, third Army, in four European Campaigns in 1944 and 1945. On April 23, 1946, he married Leona Volf at St. Wencenslaus Church in western Valley County, Leona died on June 3, 1993. He was a life long resident of Valley County. (At this point in the Obituary, many paragraphs are dedicated to remembering Mr. Radil's accomplishments) Survivors include two sons, Ronald J. Radil and his wife, Rene of Dodge City, KS and Daniel and his wife, Mary Jo of Kearney; six grandchildren; two sisters, Margaret Grabowski of Ord and Evelyn Kamarad and her husband, Richard of Comstock and his mother-in-law, Matilda Volf of Ord.
