ADA — Services for Meta June Brinlee, 79, Ada, are 2 p.m. Thursday at Morris Memorial Baptist Church, the Revs. Gary Jamar and Michael Calhoun officiating. Burial follows at Memorial Park Cemetery. Mrs. Brinlee died June 23, 2003, at a local hospital. She was born June 8, 1924, at Laxton, east of Roff, to Benjamin Earl and Katie Glasgow Brookshire. She was a lifelong resident of this area, attending school at Laxton and Roff, graduating from Roff High School in 1942. She and Herbert Clayton Brinlee were married June 17, 1943, at Ada. Mrs. Brinlee was a homemaker and an active member of Morris Memorial Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents and a great-grandson, Hagen Carlyle Brinlee. Survivors include her husband, Herbert C. Brinlee, of the home; a son, Ronnie Brinlee and wife Judy, Ada; three sisters, Alta King, Edmond, Barbara Harrison, Ada, and Earlene Leighton, Del City; a sister-in-law, Elsie Burnshire, Pryor; three grandsons, Shane Brinlee and wife Tina, Allen, Bart Brinlee and Clay Brinlee, both of Ada; and seven great-grandchildren. Bearers are Rod Dillard, Marvin Byers, Stan Cochran, Jim Jackson, Bob Jeter and Chris Flowers. Honorary bearers are Haskell Harrison, Floyd Wilkins, James Abbott, Charles Bigham and Bill Osborn.
