Click Funeral Home & Cremations - Tellico Village Chapel is serving the family of Reta Olson. Reta Cupp Olson was born August 14, 1951 in Alexandria, Rapides Parish, Louisiana to parents John Francis Cupp, Jr. and Ruby Inez Johnson Cupp. Reta was the youngest of their three daughters and the only redhead. Her Grandfather John Sr was also a redhead. Her sister Jean being the oldest and then Johnnie. Her name was suppose to be Reta Frances but by the time her parents had decided it was too late, the name Reta was on the birth certificate and no room in the middle for Frances. At the age of 3 she moved to Texas with her family so her memories of her family in Louisiana were very few. Her younger years were in Jacinto City and Galena Park where she went to school. At the young age of 16 years she married James Laughtery and had a beautiful baby girl named Victoria Lynn. The marriage failed and she married Marshall Williams and had another beautiful baby girl named Marcy Leann. Again this marriage failed but she then met her ROCK, her HERO, her KNIGHT IN SHINING ARMORE, Peter Olson. Pete picked her up, dusted her off and made the promise to heal, protect and love her forever…. Which he has done. They didn't have any children together but they were blessed with three wonderful grandchildren. Chance Ryan, who is serving our county and protecting our FREEDOM, Destiny Carol Ann and Emma K. Together Pete and Reta made great memories and shared a loving wonderful life. The started out in Texas and then moved to Tennessee. Reta found the place she could call home and never wanted to leave. But work took them to Alabama and on to Wisconsin. But as it should have been they returned to the place they seemed to be the happiest and it was here that she went to her final home with God. Reta loved life, her children and grandchildren and her friends. She loved to entertain and be in charge. She was full of spit and vinegar and never minded saying just what was on her mind and would help anyone in need. Our family is a loving and hugging family so if you came you got lots of hugs. Reta also love to fish and got that from her parents. She taught all her grandchildren to fish. She also taught them to love each other and life. Her wish is that we all remember her with a smile, not sadness. She is with her family in Heaven now and is sorry she had to leave us all behind. Please remember we will all be together again someday soon. Carry her in you heart and find the things about her that make you smile and laugh. Hug the people you love and share memories. Keep her dear husband, wonderful children and beautiful grandchildren in your prayers; they need you more now then Reta. Thank you all for coming, may God be with you all.
