Greta Ann Stanford, 70, of Athens, died Monday, Feb. 13, 2006, at Crestwood Medical Center. She was a member of the Coxey Church of Christ and was retired from Federal Mogul. She was preceded in death by her husband, J.C. Stanford; her parents, John and Vona Patterson; two brothers, Arvel Patterson and Lenice Patterson; and two sisters, Faye Camp and Verta Mae Combs. She is survived by four sons, James Randy Stanford and wife Vicki, Barry Lynn Stanford and wife Diane, Todd Roger Stanford and wife Tasha, all of Athens, and Donnie Ray Stanford and wife Daveen of Elkmont; one daughter, Belinda Cottles and husband Ronnie of Athens; special companion, Marvin Kyle of Athens; one sister, Shirley Sandlin of Decatur; grandchildren, Jonathan Sledge and wife Taylor, Jami Tennison and husband Derek, Amanda Hulsey and husband David, Lucas Stanford, Clint Stanford, Matthew Stanford and wife Jan, Trey Stanford, Jenna Strickland, Joy Stanford, Alex Stanford, Sabrina Harmon, and Michael Cottles and wife Gale; great-grandchildren, Alana Tennison, Garrett Tennison, Grayson Sledge, Daylan Stanford, Shelby Harmon, Ronnie Lyn Harmon, Aleshi Cox, Corey Cottles and Tyler Cottles. Pallbearers will be Tommy Carter, Allen Camp, Jerry Patterson, Jimmy Sandlin, Jerry Garner, Joe Sandlin, Larry Patterson and Terry Patterson. Grandsons will be honorary pallbearers.
