Portales News-Tribune 17 Jan 1972: Mrs. Grace Honea Buried Today Mrs. Grace Honea, who was born at Kenna May 30, 1904 [sic], died Saturday evening at Roosevelt General Hospital after a long illness. She was the last surviving member of a pioneer ranching family of the county, that of Mr. and Mrs. Jeff White. She was married at Texico in 1922 to Peck Honea; they had one son who died in infancy. Mr. Honea died in 1966. Her only surviving relatives are nephews, Gene and Arthur Sweetland and Joe Boren, and a niece, Mrs. Bennetta Boren Tinnin. She was a sister-in-law of Mrs. Jim Hatch, and a cousin to Mrs. Charlie Little, of Portales. The funeral was at 2 p.m. this afternoon at Wheeler Chapel, with Kenneth Broad of Central Christian Church officiating, Ernest Wheeler assisting. Burial was in Portales Cemetery.
