Porter, Agnes (Najvar) Agnes Porter, 58, of Sheridan passed away Oct. 9. She was born Aug. 31, 1944 in Jourdanton to Thomas David and Annie Albina (Zapalac) Najvar. She married Lawrence Porter of Sheridan. She was a homemaker and a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Nada and Christian Mothers. She was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her husband of 36 years, Lawrence Porter of Sheridan; sons and daughters-in-law, Keith and Jacqueline Porter of Katy and L. Scott and Anina Porter of Houston; four grandchildren, Torie, Dayna, Clay and Lawrence Porter; sisters, Betty Richter of San Antonio and Frances Spring of Sheridan; brothers, Ivan Najvar of Victoria, Tommy Najvar of Falls City, Bill Najvar of Kingsville and Jerry Najvar of Big Sandy. Funeral services were held Oct. 12 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Nada with the Rev. Joseph Koebel officiating. Interment followed at St. Mary's Cemetery in Nada. Pallbearers were Chris Richter, Mike Michalak Sr., Mike Michalak Jr., Kenneth Najvar, Stephen Najvar and David Najvar.
