Strother and Beatrice Dyer Strother White Oaks Funeral Home/Oakdale Published in The Town Talk on July 2, 2014 Billy Gene Strother Graveside services for Billy Gene Strother will be held at 10 am, Wednesday, June 3, 2014 in the Occupy #1 Cemetery of Pitkin. Military rites will be conducted by the Fort Polk honor guards. Interment will follow under the guidance of White Oaks Funeral Home of Oakdale. Billy, 78, of Houston, Texas, formerly from Pitkin, entered eternal rest on Saturday, June 28, 2014 in his residence. He was born on June 16, 1936 in Pitkin, to the union of William H. Strother and Beatrice Dyer Strother. He was an electrician. He is preceded in death by his parent; two brothers, Jimmy and Darwin Strother; and one sister, Peggy Ann Strother. He is survived by one brother, Leland Strother of Richmond, Virginia; and a hosts of nieces and nephews. Published in The Town Talk on July 2, 2014
