Bio

Blacksmith, US Military Academy Cavalry Detachment, US Army. He enlisted in the United States Army on December 20, 1897. He retired on June 25, 1898. He emigrated to the United States in 1868. Per the 1900 Census for Highland, New York, he married Catherine McCarthy in 1871. They were the parents of seven children with six living including Lizzie Medler born about 1872; Michael W. Medler (1875-1962) and Catharine Medler (1878-1919) and James J. Medler (1880-1964).
