Died between 1860 and 1870. Son of Daniel Harding and Anne Bussey David Gamaliel Harding, the son of Daniel and Anne Bussey Harding was born in Fauquier County, Virginia. In 1809, he was married to Mary Stuart Alston, born in Alabama. To this union two children were born: 1. Catherine Elizabeth- 1st married to John Border in 1844 and 2nd to Oran Milo Roberts (Governor of Texas) in 1887 2. Mary Ann that married Ira Ellis. David G. Harding emigrated to Texas about 1839. In 1842 his wife, Mary Harding died, evidently in San Augustine County. David G. Harding served as Justice of the Peace for San Augustine County 1841-1845. He is listed as a member of the San Augustine County Land Commissioners Board in 1841 and also served as County Commissioner in 1848. He built a cotton gin and mill on "Overmill Creek" in the northeast part of San Augustine County. David G. Harding died between 1860-1870, and was buried near his old home site. It states, David G Harding, died in 1861 and was buried in the family cemetery. Served as Justice of the Peace in San Augustine County, Texas from 1841 to 1845.
