The Deseret News December 15, 1990 page B7 Eldon ''Dutch'' Turner, age 84, died December 14, 1990 in a Salt Lake hospital. Born June 27, 1906 in Lehi, Utah to Charles A. and Mary Zimmerman Turner. Married Lois Barnes in Farmington, Utah on February 13, 1933. Dutch started working for the railroad in 1923 and retired from the Union Pacific Railroad in 1972, serving 49 years for the railroad. He was an avid sportsman, both as a spectator and participant. He was especially adept in baseball, having played on several championship teams. Survivors: wife, Lois, Midvale; brother, Virgil H. Turner, Pleasant Grove; sisters, Ordell Hardcastle, Sandy; Gwen McFarlane, Adine McFarlane, both Riverton; Ruth Graham, American Fork; Betty Powell, Lehi; Klea Ernst, West Jordan; Bonnie West, Draper. Also lots of nieces and nephews and many friends. Funeral services will be held Monday, December 17, 1990, at 1 p.m. in the Goff Mortuary Chapel, 8090 So. State where friends may call Sunday 6-8 p.m and Monday one hour prior to services. Interment, Midvale City Cemetery.
