Bio

Bernard Edward Kruppa, 89, of Temple, died Friday, June 27, 2014, at the William R. Courtney Texas State Veterans Home in Temple, Texas. A funeral mass will be held at 10 a.m., Tuesday, July 1, 2014, at the Queen of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Hostyn, Texas with Father Timothy Kosler officiating. Burial will be in Holy Rosary Catholic Cemetery. Bernard was born in Holman, Texas, to the late Richard and Martha Adamcik Kruppa. He graduated from La Grange High School in La Grange, Texas. Bernard married Elaine Vavra Hubenak on May 24, 1948, at St. Michaels Catholic Church in Weimer, Texas. He served in the U.S. Naval Air Patrol in World War II. After returning home, Bernard was a Jersey breeder and dairyman in La Grange, Texas. He was a member of St. Lukes Catholic Church in Temple as well as KJT, 4th degree Knights of Columbus, and the VFW. He was preceded in death by his brothers: Edwin, Henry, and Frank Kruppa and his wife, Elaine. Survivors include sons, Leonard Kruppa and his wife, Jane, of Temple, and Daniel Kruppa and his wif,e Mary Helen, of Tomball; daughters, Mary Ann Daly, of St. George, Utah, and Joan Flood and her husband, Steve, of Fulshear, Texas; grandchildren: Paul Kruppa, Brian Kruppa, Scott Kruppa, Chris Kruppa, Tommy Kruppa, Sam Kruppa, Kate Flood, Alex Flood, Ty Daly, Carl Daly, Genny Daly, and Jonathan Daly; great-grandchildren: Kyle Kruppa, Addison Kruppa, Dylan Kruppa, Jonathan Kruppa, Cody Kruppa, and Haley Kruppa; other relatives and many friends.
