Bio

Helen A. Rerucha, 89, of Seward, formerly of the Brainard area, died Tuesday, Nov. 13, 2007, at Sunderman Home in Seward. Services will be 10 a.m. Friday at St. Francis Church, rural David City. Burial will be at St. Francis Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2-7 p.m. Thursday, with a Rosary at 7 p.m. at Chermok Funeral Home, David City. Helen was born Nov. 25, 1917, to Anton and Veronica (Sypal) Bruner in rural Brainard. She graduated from Brainard Public School. Helen married Everest E. Rerucha on Aug. 29, 1939, at Holy Trinity Church in Brainard. She enjoyed being a homemaker, especially doing baking, gardening, canning, listening to Czech music and spending time with animals. She was a member of the St. Francis Altar Society Helen is survived by her son, Larry of David City; daughters, Margaret (William) Woita of Dwight and Marvene (Graham) Robertson of Montello, Nev.; six grandchildren; and 14 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Everest (on Dec. 20, 2002); brother, George Bruner; and sister, Lucy Soukup.
