Fairfield Recorder - 22 Apr 1887 DIED It is with much regret that we chronicle the death of Mrs. Charles O. Steen, who died last Tuesday evening on Ward Prairie, after an illness of some weeks of inflammatory rheumatism. The deceased was formerly Miss Sophie Manahan, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. F. Manahan, of Steward's Mill. Mrs. Steen was about 30 years old and an excellent lady, just in the pride of womanhood. Her untimely death is a sore bereavement to her family and relatives, and taken from her circle of a now broken family a true, loving wife and a fond mother. The bereaved family have(sic) the sympathies of many in their great loss.
