Edward married Audrey F. Thiery on April 3, 1960 in San Diego county, CA. He worked as a finance director at The Children's Hospital in Aurora, CO and was co-founder of the Kallsen Barbecue Fund there. Edward and Audrey had children, Curtiss L.S and Corinne.
