June Carol Dewerff, 68, Moorhead, MN died on Tuesday, June 24, 2014, in Sanford Health Palliative Care, Fargo, ND. June Goplin was born on June 11, 1946, in Warren, MN, to Sanford and Harriet (Bren) Goplin. She grew up and attended school there, graduating from Warren High School. She attended cosmetology school in Thief River Falls, MN. June married David Durgin on December 18, 1965, in Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Warren, MN. They were later divorced. She lived in Blackduck, MN, and Thief River Falls, MN until moving to Moorhead in 1976. June married Stan Dewerff on June 26, 1982, in Trinity Lutheran Church in Moorhead, MN. They lived in Fargo before moving to Moorhead in 1995. She worked at various places including Eide Company and Concordia College. Her small group of classmates founded the first "Red Hat" group in Fargo-Moorhead. She loved to flower garden and to spend time with her grandchildren. June is survived by her husband, Stan Dewerff, Moorhead, MN; sons Brian (Rochelle) Durgin, Fargo, ND, Jay (Monique) Durgin, Fargo, ND, Michael (Candy) Dewerff, Storm Lake, Iowa; daughter Michele (Jeffrey) Murphy, Chanhassen, MN; brothers, Russ (Mandy) Goplin, Bemidji, MN, and Lowell Goplin, Warren, MN; sister, Lana (Alan) Shoenack, Moorhead, MN; grandchildren Ross James Dewerff, Brett Jakob Dewerff, Emily Nicole Durgin, Zach Brian Durgin, and Rowan Avery Durgin; sister-in-law Beverly Goplin, Grand Rapids, MN. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Lee Goplin. Funeral: Friday, June 27, 2014, at 10:30 A.M. in Trinity Lutheran Church, Moorhead, MN. Visitation: Thursday, June 26, 2014, from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. in Wright Funeral Home, Moorhead, MN. Interment: Evergreen Memorial Cemetery, Moorhead, MN.
