Bio

The funeral for Frank Zvacek, 88, of Fremont, formerly of North Bend, will be 10:30 p.m. Monday at Moser Memorial Chapel in North Bend. He died Wednesday, Nov. 26, 2003, at Nye Pointe Health and Rehab Center in Fremont. Zvacek was born Dec. 4, 1914, in rural Howells. He grew up in the Howells area and moved to North Bend in 1929. He farmed until 1947 and then was employed as a plumber at Gaughen Hardware Co. in Norh Bend for 30 years. He married Margaret L. Marrel on Jan. 5, 1969, in Wahoo. He moved to Fremont after retiring. His wife preceded him in death March 10, 1990. He was a member of Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 200 of Fremont. Survivors include: a son, Robert (and wife, Cindy) Zvacek of Jacksonville, Fla.; a daughter, Joanne (Mrs. Roy) Cress of Omaha; two stepsons, Charles (and wife, Marise) Wheatley of Denver, and David (and wife, Sharon) Marrel of Lincoln; two stepdaughters, Dorothy Walter of Omaha and Mildred (Mrs. Duane) Pawling of Hooper; a sister, Arline Pallas of North Bend; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. He also was preceded in death by a brother and a step daughter. The Rev. Greg Hall will officiate Monday's service. Visitation will be from 1:30-9 p.m. Sunday with family receiving friends from 1:30-3:30 p.m. Visitation will continue from 9 a.m. until service time Monday. Burial will be 1:30 p.m. Monday at Zion Presbyterian Church in Clarkson. Memorials have been established to Nye Pointe Health and Rehab Center in Fremont.
