Bio

My grandfather was a twin, born in Matagorda County, Texas. He and his twin sister, Harriet Gertrude "Hallie" Hobbs LeClere were the 2nd and 3rd children born to their parents, Jesse Hobbs and Celia Ann Lee Hobbs . Was a butcher by trade. Died of a cerebral hemorrhage at his home at age 55. First wife was Mary Elizabeth (Lizzie) Keane , who was the mother of Harry Gervais Hobbs and Hallie Hobbs Whittington (my mother). Brother of Maggie Lorena Hobbs Floyd , Hiram Hobbs , Lillian Greenlee , Irvin Hobbs , Hallie G. LeClere and Alice Hobbs Pate. Second wife was Anna Sarah Todd Hobbs , who was the mother of Edith Althea Hobbs Sample Grandfather of Celia Lee Whittington He is buried in the Hobbs plot and is one of 5 others whose graves are unmarked. His father is the only one with a marker.
