Grand Island (Nebraska) Daily Independent Sunday, 9 April 1995 Fern M. Preisendorf, 73, of 124 W. 15th, died Friday, April 7, at St. Francis Medical Center. Services will be at 10:30 Tuesday at the Blessed Sacrament Church. With the Rev. Don Larmore officiating. Burial will be in the Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be...at Apfel-Butler-Geddes Funeral Home... Memorials are suggested to the Association for Retarded Children (ARC). Mrs. Preisendorf was born Sept. 25, 1921 to Bernard and Catherine (Schutte) Rempe at Madison. She began her education at Madison and graduated in 1939 from Spalding Academy. She married LeRoy Preisendorf on April 6, 1948, at Council Bluffs, Iowa. The couple lived in Grand Island whre Mrs. Preisendorf worked as a registered nurse for St. Francis and Lutheran Hospitals. She later worked for Central Catholic, Woolworths and Galaxy Laundry. Mrs. Preisendorf was a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, Altar Society, Catholics Daughters (Queen of Peace) Eagles Auxiliary and past president of the American Legion Auxiliary. Mrs. Preisendorf is survived by her husband, LeRoy of Grand Island; four daughters, Margaret (Mrs. Richard) Ferrell of Fort Worth, Texas, Christine (Mrs. Charles) Hoffman of Grand Island, Patricia (Mrs. George) Honioles of Elwood, Ill. and Gayle Preisendorf of Beatrice; five grandchildren; three great grandchildren; three sisters, Nellie Mayabb of Lapuente, CA, Leona Heck of Fresno, CA and Louise Oletski of Denver, CO; and two brothers, Joseph Rempe of Novoto, CA and Bernard Rempe of Omaha. She was preceded in death by a brother, James.
