Bio

Georgia Louise Honza, 91, passed away Wednesday, June 18, 2014, in Fort Worth. Service: Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church, Ennis, with Father John Dick as celebrant. Interment: St. Joseph Cemetery, Ennis, under the direction of J.E. Keever Mortuary. Visitation: The family will receive friends 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday at J.E. Keever Mortuary, 408 N. Dallas St., Ennis, with rosary recited at 6 p.m. Georgia was born Feb. 25, 1923, in Telico to Charlie and Mary Rose Taraba Trojacek. She lived in Telico for a few years until her family moved to a new farm in Ennis. She had a happy childhood growing up on the farm with her sister, Vickie, and brother, Leo. She graduated from Ennis High School and moved to Fort Worth. During World War II, she worked as a real "Rosie, the Riveter" at the North American Aircraft Plant. She was of Czechoslovakian heritage and enjoyed the Czech dances in Fort Worth; that is how she became reacquainted with a young man she knew from junior high school. On Jan. 2, 1947, she married the love of her life, Frank Wesley Honza. On Sept. 9, 1949, their only child, Judy Kaye Honza, was born. Frank worked at Convair (now Lockheed Martin) so they made their home in Fort Worth, but in the early years they traveled to Ennis nearly every weekend to see their parents and work on the farm. She devoted her whole life to taking care of her family. She had worked at Montgomery Ward before her child was born and returned in 1963 to work at the tube station until she retired in 1984. She enjoyed her family of Montgomery Ward friends, and her daughter even worked on the eighth floor with her. Georgia and Frank were happily married until he died in 2001. They were members of St. Patrick Cathedral in Fort Worth and she will be greatly missed by everyone who knew her, especially her daughter, to which her mother was the whole world. Georgia was preceded in death by her parents, Mary Rose Trojacek and Charlie Trojacek; brother, Leo Trajacek; and husband, Frank Wesley Honza; and nephew, Bobby Honza. Survivors: Daughter, Judy Kaye Honza; sister, Victoria Kohn; nephew, Gary Kohn; niece, Sharon Wilson; sister-in-law, Leona Honza; nephew, Raymond Honza Jr.; niece, Linda Tolston; sister-in-law, Mildred Patak; nieces, Darlene Penrod and Jo Ann Wester; nephew, Ronnie Honza; sister-in-law, Agnes Garrard; nieces, Amelia Easter and Gayle Ueberroth; lifelong friend, Belinda Hackleman; many great-nephews and great-nieces; and many friends.
