Bio

Robert Dewitt (Bob) Hale, 52, a carpenter who spent most of his life in the Gatesville area, died at 4 a.m. Sunday at his home on the State School Road. His death was attributed to a heart ailment. Rev. Emory Macy conducted the funeral rites, held Tuesday afternoon at Scott's Chapel. Burial was in the Restland Cemetery. (Ater Cemetery) Mr. Hale was born in Gatesville and lived here all his life with the exception of two years spent in Fayetteville, Ark. He was a member of the Church of God. He was married to Miss Alice Unger Aug. 22, 1931, and she survives him. Also surviving are two sons, Charles Joe Hale of California and Robert Ray Hale of Gatesville; four daughters, Mrs. June Glass and Misses Jeannie Mae Hale, Patricia Ann Hale and Wanda Faye Hale all of Gatesville; a grandson, Mikey June Glass of Gatesville; three brothers, Harve Hale of Levita, Jess Hale of Gatesville and Ollie Hale of Gatesville; and two sisters, Mrs. A. O. Fletcher of Aledo and Mrs. Paul Ray of Groves. (GM 22 Feb 1957)
