Mary Cornelia Gooch, age 92 of Euless, Texas, passed away June 16, 2014 in Bedford, Texas. She was born November 16, 1921 to Robert Clyde and Bernice Lynn (Gray) Biggs in Lucas, Texas. Cornelia was a member of First United Methodist Church of Hurst. She also volunteered as a "Candy Striper" at North Hills Hospital in North Richland Hills for a number of years.Cornelia worked for the family business Salads & Such in Hurst, Texas for many years, where she was known as "Nana." Cornelia married James Travis Gooch May 16, 1942 in McKinney, Texas; they were happily married for thirty years before his passing in 1972. She is survived by her daughter, Karen Gooch Brown of Grandview, Texas; granddaughters, Shanna Mattson and husband Blake of Waco, Texas, and Shellie Ahrens and husband John of Haltom City, Texas; great-grandchildren, Carlyn Mattson, Court Mattson, and Malia Mae Mattson; brother, Don Biggs of Denton, Texas; along with numerous nieces and nephews. Cornelia was preceded in death by her husband, James Travis Gooch; parents, Clyde and Bernice Biggs; sisters, Araminta Ramsey and Nedra Jane Latham. The family will receive friends during a visitation Thursday 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. to pay their respects and to sign the register book. A funeral service will be held Friday, June 20, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Chapel in Allen, Texas. Interment will follow at Ridgeview Memorial Park in Allen, Texas.
